Yummy Crockpot Oatmeal
I love to start my day with a warm, tasty bowl of oatmeal! That wasn't always the case, I used to think it looked like something somebody had already eaten, yuck! But then one day, my sweet friend, food mentor and encourager Terri Brewer shared her recipe for crockpot oatmeal. Bryan and I tried it and were hooked from the first delicious bowl! The best part, when I fix a pot on Sunday night, it lasts all week! Here is her recipe, and thanks again Terri for sharing not only this recipe, but all your encouraging words!! Enjoy!
Easy Crockpot Oatmeal - by Terri J. Brewer
1 Cup Steel Cut Oats
4 Cups Organic Skim Milk or water ( I like to do half milk, half water)
2 Large sweet apple cut into slices
Cinnamon
Toppings: walnuts, honey, raisins or other fruits you like
Directions:
Spray inside of crockpot with pam to help with cleanup later. Combine oats, milk (or water) and apple in crockpot. Sprinkle cinnamon on mixture then stir in. I like a lot, so use your judgement on what you prefer. Turn on low and cook for 8 hours. After oats are finished cooking, scoop out into storage bowls for the week, top with walnuts and honey or other fruits you like and enjoy! Makes approximately six -eight 1/2 cup servings.
